Success Stories

"Thank you so much Alex for the recent first aid course. I really enjoyed it and found it very helpful. The teaching split between the videos and then the half day practical worked really well for me and I think it helped me retain more information. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that yesterday my husband and I were first on the scene at a car accident where the passenger had very bad stomach and chest pain (from the seatbelt I think), had got himself out of the car (a write off and in the middle of the road) and was sat on the ground but told us he was epileptic and then started fitting as I was speaking to the emergency services. So I handed the phone to my husband and fortunately I knew what to do and felt that all the training had been incredibly helpful thank you. I protected his head, put him as close to the recovery position as I could as he had sort of laid down on his side anyway, and kept him warm and reassured him. Fortunately another couple stopped who had blankets which was great and they were really good too. He continued to have fits and lost consciousness a few times but he was ok and talking when conscious, anyway the ambulance, fire engine and police arrived very soon. Fortunately the two drivers were both ok. Anyway, I can't thank you enough for the sterling training and I am so grateful to have been able to help and be calm and think about the ABC and Act first mnemonics which really helped. Fortunately there was no blood (visible, I was worried in case he had internal bleeding) and he was breathing throughout so although it felt a bit scary it wasn't too bad as I knew what to do."

"Just want to say thank you. Today was that day you pray you don’t need your first aid training. Just having lunch in a local cafe and a little girl, 1 years old, started fitting. No history of fits. Thanks to your excellent training I knew exactly what to do. Was so pleased she was breathing throughout and by the time ambulance arrived was responsive and even grumpy (always a good sign)."

"I’ll take this opportunity then to say how impressed I was with both the targeted content of the training and the delivery. Every student on the course praised the instructors’ knowledge and teaching acumen, and all obtained valuable skills from the practical and theoretical components. I would wholeheartedly recommend the course to any personnel at a higher risk of sustaining injuries within their teams."

"I just wanted to thank you and let you know that yesterday I was able to confidently attend to a medical situation where an elderly gentleman collapsed in front of me in the car park of the hotel I was staying in (he is fine).

I was reassured by the knowledge I had gained and was able to capably help him."

"I was asked by our Committee to recommend a company to provide us with first aid training. Other organizations quoted me sky-high prices, but one of our leaders told me about a company she had used, run by an ex-paramedic which gave very practical training. We arranged a training course which was held about two weeks ago, for 16 leaders and it was excellent.
Although they are based near Worcester, they seem to cover a large area – they were very happy to provide training in Potters Bar, Herts

We found Alex to be an excellent trainer and his experience is as solid as a rock. He stuck to the basics with lots of practical sessions which helped us refresh our skills.

I have no links of any sort to Holos – I’m recommending them because they delivered great training to our walk leaders."
